How much is it to train with the Aviators? We have a few options to choose from. See our site or send in an inquiry under Contact Us.
How long have the Aviators been around? Established officially in 2015, we started out in 2014 with a small group of willing athletes.
Do you recruit players? While we will not turn away great performing athletes, we have developed most of our players from within. It is harder to teach from the ground up but that is what makes coaching fun!
Are your coaches any good? Experience comes in many forms. High School Players, Former College Players, Teachers, University Students, Parents, Doctors, Scientists all coach our young athletes.
Why don't you have a former pro player as a coach? We have professional teachers guiding our group.
Have any of your players gone on to college or the pros? While no pros have emerged from our club, yet, we have worked with a number of current college players. Some for a short period of time and others for a longer duration. These players deserve most or all of the credit for their success and we are happy to say we helped and were part of their journey.
Are you inclusive of all backgrounds? Diversity and understanding is the fabric of a successful Canada and we are Canadian. We bring people together. Cultural, Economic, LGBT and more are very welcome here. Competition is for everyone!
Are you a church group or funded by one? NO! We are a basketball club, period. While we may embark on projects with funding earmarked for specific purposes, the purpose will always be clearly communicated. There is no hidden agenda with the Aviators Basketball Club
Why do schedules change? Most coaches don't work full time as coaches and have other obligations outside of their coaching pursuits. In order to put a high quality coach in front of our young athletes, it's imperative to work with the working schedules of our coach volunteers. This requires a certain amount of flexiblity in order to accomodate their needs. Schedules change due to gym availability, coaching availability, league scheduling.
What are the Aviators training goals? The Aviators focus on values and not on goals. We value being competitive in a supportive environment; where the athlete learns to enjoy the journey of sport and not the outcome of sport. Working hard, being a good teammate and a good competitor is a lifelong value that benefit our athletes on and off the court.
We are good at what we do! While there are no guarantees, we have a very high amount of athletes achieve their goals! In 2022 tryout season, 100% of our girls who tried out made their school team! Most of ther girls training started with the Aviators!
