Meeting Minutes Sept. 2, 2020
Sept. 2, 2020 Meeting Minutes Aviators Basketball Club Virtual Parent Meeting
- Fees must be paid in full prior to the start of the session to secure your spot.
- Before coming to your session, all participants must complete the Govt. of Alberta’s Covid-19 Information Screening Questionnaire. (Quick link can be found on our website) It’s a tool to assess your athlete’s wellness before sending them to their session.
- Sign in sheet will be filled out for every skill session to keep track of attendance.
- Participants will be asked to wear a mask in the entrance or common area when they arrive.
- Participants must arrive dressed and ready to participate with the exception of their basketball indoor shoes. All outdoor shoes will remain outside of the gym.
- Participants will be asked to sanitize their hands before entering the gym and after practice.
- There will be no sharing of water bottles, towels, or sanitizers between athletes. Water bottles will be clearly marked with the player's name.
- During skill sessions, sanitation of equipment will be done between groups.
- Spectators will not be allowed in the gym during skill sessions. *1 Parent Volunteer will be present to help with check-in and sanitation.
- During mini league games, spectators will be limited, cheering or yelling will be strongly discouraged and masks will be worn by spectators.
- Duration of mini league games may also be shortened and the possibility of having fewer athletes play against each other will be considered. (ie. 3 on 3, 4 on 4)
- Participants will be discouraged from giving high five or shaking hands with each other or other team members after games.
- The Aviators Basketball Club will follow the guidelines set In Stage 2, where 50-person mini-leagues can be formed for sports or physical activity that involve participant interaction at a distance of less than 2 metres.
- The Aviators Basketball Club will not be travelling in other regions or other provinces for tournaments or games.
- Once you have joined a Sport Cohort for basketball, that’s your permanent group for all of Phase 2.
- If you’re training with your club team but also playing with a separate group of friends recreationally, you need to pick only one Cohort to continue with.
- To support public health contact tracing efforts in the event that an attendee tests positive, The Aviators Basketball Club will maintain a log book; collect and keep track of attendance, and the name and contact information of attendees for every session.
- It is the responsibility of the participant or parents of the participants to do the self-screening checklist prior to attending their skill sessions. Any “yes” answer to the checklist means that the participant is not allowed to participate and must communicate with the club before returning to play.
- Due to the nature of our sport and our circumstances, we anticipate that there will be times when sessions will be cancelled due to gym cancellations, inclement weather, or illness. We will send as much notice as possible via text and email to all members informing you of the cancellation. We will do our best to make up the gym time that is lost, by booking for another time in the future but depending on the situation, this may not be possible and will be handled case by case.
- No refunds will be issued for programs that have commenced for any reason.
- Parents/Players can access their schedule on LeagueApps.
- Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your scheduled time.
- We will work on syncing Google Calendar with the calendar on LeagueApps.
